I raised my children color blind

Annette,
Houston, TX, .

I am white and I am weary of being included in a white subset of American original sin. The only original sin I have is biblical. I do not expect to be patted on the back for raising my children to be color blind. My children are 16 and 18. They truly do not see differences in the color of one’s skin. Racism is taught. They have not learned it our diverse city.

Lastly, my ancestors were Irish indentured servants. We did not own slaves. Many of us had not immigrate. Racism is multi level.
