I’m Wendy. Expected to be white.

I heard Jamaal’s story this morning on my way to work and could see the similarities as an African American woman with a “white” name. Not so much anymore, but as a child I was teased for talking and acting “white”, as well. After attending a PWI (Predominantly White Institution) in Michigan where I grew up, I now work at a Fortune 200 company so my name, speech and mannerism seem to have worked in my favor.
