Jewish white woman wanting different perspective

Natalie Sabes,
Minneapolis, MN

I chose to include three words about my identity (Jewish, white, woman) because they affect every action I take and every thought people have about me whether I acknowledge it or not. My next three words demonstrate how I tend to think that I am not directly affected by extreme racism, thus it’s difficult for me to realize what it is like to be on the receiving end. Examining stories of inequalities helps to imagine what it would be like, but I can never truly know.
