“So… I should just check ‘Other’?”

Hannah Killen,

I’ve been called racially ambiguous more times than I can count. The thing is, just because I’m mixed doesn’t mean I don’t want a claim to my race. Just because I can pass as white doesn’t mean I want to pretend for the privileges. I love my culture and I take pride in my heritage. It sucks that on every form I have to check ‘other’ instead of my identity actually mattering.
