Being silent about race speaks volumes

My parents brought their racial biases with them when they emigrated to the U.S. from Egypt, a multi-racial country that definitely favors people of light skin over those with darker skin. Now I work with teachers and students to raise awareness of racial bias and to consider how it impacts our daily interactions with each other.
