Privilege lives everywhere, silent but deadly

Ava Zahm,

White privilege is something I’m embarrassed to have learned about so late in my life. As a young white woman, I live a completely different life with so many fewer hardships, threats, and dangers than the life of someone identical to me but with more melanin in their skin. White privilege is something which is horrifically ignored and unspoken about, particularly among white people. Ignorance is bliss for so many people who don’t want to acknowledge how extremely serious American racism still is and will continue to be.
